Account Executive

About the Role

Join our regional sales team as the face of Newsela in the small-medium business market, responsible for building key relationships and driving the adoption of engaging reading content in school districts.

Responsibilities

• Own the entire sales lifecycle, from pipeline management and forecasting to designing lead generation campaigns.
• Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers at the school district level.
• Develop territory business plans, evaluate funding landscapes, and tailor sales strategies to align with district initiatives.
• Represent the company in the market, exercising discretion and independent judgment to structure tailored solutions and negotiate agreements.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience hitting or exceeding quota selling SaaS products.
• Demonstrated expertise in navigating multiple stakeholders to engineer customer solutions.
• Proven experience building a book of business using a high volume/transactional sales approach.
• Ability to thrive as a self-starter in a fast-paced environment, driving sales quickly to a close.
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly to meet with customers and prospects.

Nice-to-Haves

• Previous experience as a teacher or a strong grasp of pedagogy to connect classroom challenges with Newsela solutions.
