Role Impact and Mission

This role is central to protecting Remote from unacceptable risk while empowering our Go-To-Market (GTM) teams to close enterprise-level customers globally.

• Lead the Commercial Legal team, managing 3-5 direct reports.
• Serve as the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for all sales, partnership, and vendor contract reviews and negotiations.
• Drive efficiency by collaborating with Ops teams to automate workflows and leverage AI in contracting.

Core Responsibilities

• Guide, mentor, and nurture the commercial legal team, providing timely and constructive feedback.
• Upgrade commercial terms and templates to support GTM teams in securing enterprise deals.
• Provide strategic support on complex deal negotiations and bespoke terms drafting.
• Identify company-wide legal issues and implement efficient, effective solutions in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Institute best practices and lead training to enhance the Legal Team's efficiency and knowledge base.

Essential Qualifications

• Must be a qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction.
• Proven technical excellence in commercial contracts, particularly sales, partnership, and procurement transactions within HR Tech or SaaS environments.
• Previous in-house experience in a similar commercial legal leadership role.
• Outstanding team leadership skills: ability to mentor, motivate, and build trusted relationships in a fully remote setting.
• Excellent analytical, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
