Responsibilities

• Directly manage and coach a team of engineers, fostering their career growth and development.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Success teams to plan and execute the product roadmap.
• Balance feature development, technical improvements, and bug fixes to ensure high-quality, timely delivery.
• Optimize team processes, remove obstacles, and maintain an environment that maximizes iteration speed.
• Remain technical enough to deeply understand team problems, engage in technical discussions, and make informed decisions regarding project execution.
• Hire, onboard, and nurture top-tier engineering talent.

Requirements

• 2+ years of engineering management experience or demonstrable equivalent skill in building, improving, and supporting engineering teams and careers.
• Strong technical background with fluency in either the Clojure ecosystem or the Frontend ecosystem (React + Typescript).
• Proven ability to debug project execution by identifying necessary changes across people, process, and scope.
• Strong product sensibilities, capable of translating product proposals and designs into clear engineering requirements and mitigating associated risks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong preference for written communication to support asynchronous work in a distributed team.
