Engineering Team Leader

About the Role

Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team to deliver exceptional product development while actively contributing to the codebase. This is an exciting opportunity to shape team dynamics and drive technical execution in a fully remote, global environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a small product team consisting of 3-5 backend and frontend engineers.
• Dedicate approximately 30% of time to management tasks, actively participating in product development for the remaining time.
• Lead hiring processes for the team and support peer teams as needed.
• Own the onboarding process for new engineers joining the team.
• Act as the team spokesperson, managing team dynamics and fostering an environment where individuals can excel.
• Provide continuous, constructive feedback to direct reports and the team as a whole.
• Guide and coach team members, taking responsibility for each direct report's career growth.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing an engineering team of at least 2 people.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Backend technologies, specifically Elixir/Phoenix.
• Solid understanding of engineering and development principles and best practices.
• Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to inspire confidence and motivate team members.
• Good understanding of team dynamics and commitment to fostering an inclusive environment.
• Dedication to promoting organizational values within the team.

Role Context
