Senior Analytics Engineer (Contractor)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Contract Senior Analytics Engineer to join our data team, applying software engineering rigor to transform, test, and document critical business data.

Responsibilities

• Apply software engineering best practices (version control, CI) to analytics code, transforming, testing, and documenting data.
• Build and maintain robust data pipelines, ensuring clean and organized data sets for end-users.
• Optimize SQL query performance for data models built.
• Transform raw data into actionable business insights by developing analyses in close collaboration with stakeholders.
• Create data visualizations and guide stakeholders in utilizing available data exploration tools.
• Build automation tools to manage and run data infrastructure, including large-scale data migrations in relational datastores.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional experience working with data in a software environment.
• Mastered proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Advanced experience managing business semantic layer tooling, data catalog tooling, and data integrity testing frameworks.
• Proven experience with dbt orchestration and best practices.
• Demonstrated track record of working autonomously with deep domain knowledge of data systems.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Terraform).
• Familiarity with document, graph, or schema-less datastores.

Tech Stack

• Core Technologies: SQL, Python, dbt, relational datastores.
• Tooling Experience: DAG tooling (like Dagster or Airflow), Tableau.
