Senior Analytics Engineer - Finance

About the Role

Join Kraken's Finance team as a Senior Analytics Engineer to build robust, scalable data pipelines and insights that directly drive critical financial decision-making across our global operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-quality, reliable data models and ETL/ELT pipelines using dbt (Data Build Tool) to support financial reporting and analysis.
• Partner closely with Finance, Accounting, and Data Science teams to understand complex data requirements and translate them into production-ready data solutions.
• Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and governance across all financial data assets.
• Optimize data warehouse performance (Snowflake) for complex analytical queries related to ledger, trading, and operational finance.
• Mentor junior team members and champion best practices in data modeling, testing, and documentation.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience in a Data Engineering or Analytics Engineering role, with significant focus on financial data.
• Expert proficiency in SQL and deep experience with modern data warehousing solutions (Snowflake preferred).
• Proven mastery of dbt (Data Build Tool) for transformation logic, testing, and documentation.
• Strong understanding of financial concepts, accounting principles, or trading systems data structures.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in data workflows (e.g., Python).

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience working with ledger systems or general ledger data structures.
• Familiarity with BI tools like Looker or Tableau for data visualization layer integration.
• Experience implementing data quality frameworks in a high-volume environment.
