Senior Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of major team-scoped projects and actively participate in cross-team initiatives.
• Design and implement APIs with a focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Actively participate in product work by providing technical feedback and suggesting product improvements.
• Contribute to the shared codebase, provide constructive feedback on code reviews, and debug complex technical and business issues.
• Mentor and provide guidance to other engineers on the team.

Requirements

• Significant professional experience as a Senior Backend Engineer, including building, shipping, and maintaining complex software projects.
• Strong proficiency with Postgres (or similar relational databases).
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins).
• Ability to design and implement robust, scalable backend systems.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with Functional Programming languages such as Elixir or Erlang.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.

About the Team and Impact

• You will be part of a cross-functional development team focused on specific product verticals.
• The backend technology stack primarily utilizes Elixir and Phoenix, backed by a Postgres database.
• We deploy multiple times per day, relying heavily on our CI/CD processes hosted on AWS.
