Senior Backend Engineer (Elixir)

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of major team-scoped projects and actively participate in cross-team initiatives.
• Design and implement high-performance, scalable, and maintainable APIs.
• Actively participate in product work, providing technical feedback and suggesting product improvements.
• Contribute to the shared codebase, conduct thorough code reviews, and mentor other engineers.
• Debug and resolve complex technical and business issues across the platform.

Requirements

• Significant professional experience as a Backend Engineer building, shipping, and maintaining complex software projects using Elixir.
• Proven experience working with Postgres or a similar relational database system.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Ability to work asynchronously and collaboratively within a cross-functional development team.

Nice-to-Haves

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Exposure to modern frontend frameworks such as React/Nextjs or Vue/Angular.

Role Context

You will be joining one of several cross-functional teams utilizing an Elixir/Phoenix backend with a Postgres database, hosted on AWS. We deploy multiple times per day relying heavily on our CI/CD processes.
