Senior Backend Engineer (Elixir)

Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-performance, scalable, and maintainable APIs using Elixir and Phoenix.
• Lead the development of major team-scoped projects and actively contribute to cross-team technical initiatives.
• Participate actively in product discussions, leveraging technical expertise to suggest and drive product improvements.
• Provide constructive feedback during code reviews and contribute to maintaining a high-quality shared codebase.
• Mentor and guide other engineers on best practices in backend development.
• Debug and resolve complex technical and business-critical issues.

Requirements

• Significant professional experience as a Backend Engineer building, shipping, and maintaining complex software projects using Elixir.
• Proven experience working with relational databases, specifically Postgres or similar SQL databases.
• Experience with modern CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Ability to work asynchronously and autonomously in a fully remote environment.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS.
• Exposure to modern frontend frameworks like Next.js, React, or Vue/Angular.

Team Context

Our backend services are built on Elixir/Phoenix backed by Postgres, hosted on AWS, and deployed multiple times daily via robust CI/CD pipelines. You will be part of a cross-functional development team focused on specific product verticals.
