Senior Backend Engineer (Elixir)

About the Role

Join our cross-functional engineering team to build and scale critical tools, APIs, and integrations for our global employment platform, working asynchronously across the world.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of major team-scoped projects and actively participate in cross-team initiatives.
• Design and implement high-performance, scalable, and maintainable APIs.
• Actively participate in product discussions, providing technical feedback and suggesting product improvements.
• Provide constructive feedback during code reviews and contribute to improving the shared codebase.
• Mentor and guide other engineers on the team.
• Debug and resolve complex technical and business issues across the platform.

Requirements

• Significant professional experience as a Backend Engineer building, shipping, and maintaining complex software projects using Elixir.
• Strong proficiency with Postgres or similar relational databases.
• Experience working within a robust CI/CD environment (e.g., GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Ability to work effectively in an asynchronous, remote environment.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS.
• Exposure to modern frontend frameworks such as Next.js, React, or Vue/Angular.
