Senior Backend Engineer (Elixir)

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of major team-scoped projects and actively participate in cross-team initiatives.
• Design and implement robust APIs with a focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Actively participate in product work by providing technical feedback and suggesting product improvements.
• Maintain a deep understanding of the team's domain from both product and engineering perspectives.
• Provide constructive feedback during code reviews and contribute to the shared codebase.
• Debug and resolve complex technical and business issues across the platform.
• Mentor and provide guidance to other engineers on the team.

Requirements

• Significant professional experience as a Backend Engineer working extensively with Elixir.
• Proven experience building, shipping, and maintaining complex software projects using Elixir/Phoenix.
• Strong proficiency with relational databases, specifically Postgres (or similar).
• Experience working within a mature CI/CD environment (e.g., GitLab, Github Actions, Jenkins).
• Ability to lead technical projects and drive cross-functional collaboration.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS.
• Exposure to modern frontend frameworks like React/Nextjs or Vue/Angular.
