Senior Full Stack Engineer

About the Role

Join HumanSignal to build the platform powering the creation and evaluation of high-quality data for leading AI teams. As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will own end-to-end feature development, translating complex data workflows into simple, performant, and reliable user experiences.

Responsibilities

• Build robust full-stack features using React/TypeScript on the client and Django/REST services, data models, and background jobs on the server.
• Own outcomes by refining scope, suggesting trade-offs, and landing increments that deliver immediate user and business value.
• Design clean API contracts, evolve schemas/migrations, and actively improve performance through query tuning, caching, and job orchestration.
• Partner closely with Product and Design from discovery through delivery, clarifying user needs and shaping scope via lightweight RFCs/PRDs.
• Ensure UIs are accessible, responsive, and feature solid error handling and failure-mode UX.
• Raise engineering standards across the team through rigorous testing strategies, code quality improvements, and resilience pattern adoption.
• Engage with our open-source community to understand real-world needs and enhance developer experience.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience shipping production full-stack features, demonstrating fluency in React/TypeScript and Python/Django alongside SQL.
• Strong product sense, evidenced by a history of making pragmatic scope and trade-off decisions based on real-world usage.
• Deep expertise in modern Frontend tooling (e.g., Vite/Webpack, Jest/Cypress) and state-management patterns.
• Solid backend depth covering REST API design, relational modeling, migrations, performance tuning, and background job orchestration.
• Excellent Senior IC communication skills, including writing clear technical documents (RFCs/PRDs) and providing actionable code reviews.

Nice-to-Haves

• Familiarity with GraphQL, Kafka/queues/streaming technologies, or Spark/BigQuery.
• Experience with authentication/RBAC systems or multi-tenant SaaS architecture.
• Experience working with design systems.
