Senior Growth Engineer

About the Role

Join Clerk as a Senior Growth Engineer to directly impact user acquisition and product adoption by building and optimizing high-leverage features across our platform.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy experiments (A/B tests) across the user journey to drive key growth metrics.
• Own the full lifecycle of growth features, from ideation and prototyping to launch and iteration.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Data Scientists to define the growth roadmap.
• Optimize conversion funnels, onboarding flows, and activation paths using data-driven insights.
• Maintain and improve the core infrastructure supporting our experimentation platform.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with significant focus on growth or product engineering.
• Deep expertise in at least one modern web framework (e.g., React, Vue, Svelte) and strong proficiency in backend development (e.g., Node.js, Go, Python).
• Proven experience setting up, running, and analyzing A/B tests and experimentation frameworks.
• Strong analytical skills and comfort working with large datasets to inform decision-making.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with identity management systems or developer tools.
• Familiarity with event tracking and analytics platforms (e.g., Amplitude, Segment).
• Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
