About the Role

Join our Developer Experience team as a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and support tools and processes that make common developer workflows efficient and reliable. You will be instrumental in building and driving the vision for our developer experience across multiple programming languages, significantly impacting engineering productivity and confidence.

Responsibilities

• Drive the vision and strategy for developer experience across multiple programming languages.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable developer tools, frameworks, and infrastructure, including service frameworks, development environments, version control, and CI/CD tooling.
• Lead high-leverage projects, ensuring alignment with company goals and maximizing value for the engineering organization.
• Mentor and coach other technical contributors, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Reddit Engineering to integrate solutions and gather feedback.
• Present and share team accomplishments, engaging with the broader organization.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience identifying and driving high-impact technical projects aligned with business strategy.
• 3+ years of industry experience with large-scale distributed systems.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Go.
• 3+ years experience developing developer tools, libraries, and frameworks.
• Proficiency with API design and implementation using technologies like GraphQL, REST, HTTP, and gRPC.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes.
• Proven track record of developing and improving highly scalable and reliable serving systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale projects involving cross-team and cross-functional collaboration.
• Excellent communication, empathy, and influencing skills across an engineering organization.
• Strong focus on user experience, usability, scalability, and quality.
• History of technical mentorship and leadership.
