Software Engineering Manager, Ads Reporting

About the Role

Lead a pivotal engineering team at Reddit, shaping the future of our Ads platform by delivering critical insights and foundational data that empower advertisers and drive business growth. This role offers the exciting opportunity to innovate at scale, impacting millions of users and advertisers.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of full-stack product and backend engineers.
• Partner with product management and design to conceptualize and build new features that communicate Reddit's value to advertisers.
• Foster a team culture of rapid iteration, experimentation, and collaborative problem-solving.
• Oversee the entire development lifecycle, from ideation and design to development, QA, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
• Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams across the Ads organization to enhance advertiser trust and optimize platform success.
• Ensure the long-term success of both product initiatives and the professional growth of team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven engineering leadership experience, managing and guiding multiple teams.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong preference for experience developing large-scale, customer-facing reporting solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate and drive alignment on large-scale, cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience collaborating effectively with product and design teams throughout the development process.
• Solid understanding of full-stack product development practices.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience working on advertiser platforms or related B2B reporting products.
• Familiarity with our core tech stack, including Python, Go, React, Airflow, and Druid.

The Ads Reporting team is at the forefront of innovation, providing critical insights and foundational data essential for advertisers on Reddit. This dynamic team manages two key workstreams: Reporting Foundations, focused on ensuring the reliability, scalability, and data correctness of our platform, and Proactive Reporting, dedicated to delivering actionable recommendations and deeper insights to advertisers via Ads Manager. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead both these crucial areas, directly influencing the evolution of the Reddit Ads platform.
