Staff Product Designer - Identity and Access Management

About the Role

Join 1Password as a Staff Product Designer to lead the vision and execution for our critical Identity and Access Management (IAM) products, shaping how millions of users securely manage their digital lives.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the end-to-end design vision and strategy for complex IAM features, ensuring usability, accessibility, and delight.
• Conduct user research, prototyping, and usability testing to validate design decisions against user needs and business goals.
• Collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, and other stakeholders to translate complex technical requirements into intuitive and elegant user experiences.
• Create high-fidelity designs, detailed specifications, and design documentation for implementation.
• Mentor and guide other designers, fostering a culture of design excellence and craft within the product area.

Requirements

• Significant experience (8+ years preferred) as a Product Designer, UX Designer, or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing complex problem-solving.
• Proven expertise in designing for security, privacy, or complex enterprise/B2B products, particularly in the Identity and Access Management space.
• Mastery of modern design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma).
• Exceptional communication skills, capable of articulating design rationale clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and agile development methodologies.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience designing for cross-platform experiences (desktop and mobile).
• Familiarity with security concepts like MFA, SSO, and password management.
• Experience working in a high-growth, remote-first environment.
