Success Engineer

About the Role

Join our growing global team as a customer-focused, highly technical Success Engineer to help users unlock insights from their data using Metabase. This role is exciting for those who love data, enjoy solving complex problems, and want to directly influence product development by serving as the voice of the customer.

Responsibilities

• Engage with users to deeply understand their data goals and technical challenges.
• Guide customers on designing and optimizing their Metabase implementations.
• Assist users in extracting data from various sources, transforming it into useful shapes, and converting their questions into executable queries.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex customer technical issues.
• Collaborate with technical communicators to develop high-quality educational materials.
• Act as the primary voice of the customer, providing feedback to product and engineering teams to drive feature development.

Requirements

• Enjoy helping people and possess strong problem-solving capabilities.
• Minimum of 3 years of technical experience in production code development, system administration, or database management.
• Expert-level proficiency in SQL and database concepts.
• Expertise in at least two of the following areas: designing/developing web applications, managing infrastructure (e.g., Docker, AWS/GCP), or managing databases.

Nice-to-Haves

• Prior experience using Metabase or other Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
• Experience working with an open-source product.
• Fluency in multiple languages, given the global user base.
