Accountant

About the Role

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
• Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax laws, and financial regulations specific to Angola.
• Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and accruals.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar financial role.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills.
• In-depth knowledge of Angolan tax laws and financial regulations.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote work environment.

Nice-to-Haves

• Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA).
• Experience with global payroll or HR platforms.
• Fluency in Portuguese, both written and spoken.

Location and Work Arrangement

• This is a full-time, remote position. Candidates must be based in Angola.
