AI Visual Design Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking an AI-Native Visual Designer to shape the future of AI-powered creative tools. This is a unique opportunity to blend deep visual judgment with hands-on experience in training and evaluating AI systems, sitting at the intersection of design, data, and product development.

Responsibilities

• Annotate and label visual data (images, UI layouts, graphics) with high-quality tags related to style, composition, and color theory.
• Evaluate AI-generated output for aesthetic quality, usability, and alignment with design principles, identifying patterns and errors to improve model performance.
• Develop visual scoring criteria and rubrics to guide model improvement across various creative formats.
• Collaborate with machine learning engineers and research scientists to provide design-driven feedback loops and translate design concepts into structured feedback.
• Use generative AI tools to explore new capabilities, prototype user workflows, and offer creative direction for model outputs.

Requirements

• Strong grasp of composition, color theory, typography, layout, visual hierarchy, and storytelling principles.
• Portfolio demonstrating visual design excellence across one or more domains (graphic, product, UI/UX, illustration).
• Familiarity with generative AI tools (image models, design AIs) and understanding of how AI training data influences model behavior.
• Ability to evaluate model output with precision and articulate actionable feedback.
• Strong written communication skills and comfort in documentation-heavy workflows.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, or 3D tools.
• Prior data labeling, annotation, or ML operations experience.
• Basic familiarity with scripting (Python), prompt engineering, or dataset tooling.
• Knowledge of design accessibility (WCAG), usability heuristics, or user research methods.
