Responsibilities

• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams to execute on strategy and build innovative features.
• Contribute to the full development lifecycle, including technical design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
• Review code and design documents, providing constructive feedback on product specifications and mocks.
• Participate in improving developer workflows, recommending best practices, and mentoring team members to enhance their technical expertise.
• Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making processes for backend development.

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of production coding experience, delivering clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• 2+ years of industry experience designing large-scale distributed systems.
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as Golang, Python, or Java.
• Experience with API design and implementation using technologies like GraphQL, REST, HTTP, Thrift, or gRPC.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage project schedules effectively.
• Demonstrated leadership and communication skills, including a track record of mentoring junior engineers.
• An entrepreneurial spirit, self-direction, innovation, and a bias towards action in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
