About the Team

The Custody team is at the forefront of securing digital assets, ensuring the integrity and safety of our clients' cryptocurrencies. You'll be part of a world-class, fully remote team of Krakenites spread across 70+ countries, united by a shared mission to accelerate the global adoption of crypto.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain highly secure and scalable backend services for crypto custody solutions.
• Implement and optimize on-chain interactions and integrations with various blockchain protocols.
• Ensure the highest standards of security, reliability, and performance for all custody-related systems.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, security engineers, and other development teams to deliver innovative features.
• Participate in code reviews, contribute to architectural discussions, and uphold best practices in software development.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Backend Software Engineer, with a strong understanding of distributed systems.
• Proficiency in at least one modern backend language (e.g., Go, Rust, Java, Python).
• Solid understanding of blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, and cryptographic principles.
• Experience with secure coding practices and building high-assurance systems.
• Familiarity with database technologies (SQL/NoSQL) and cloud platforms.
• Ability to work effectively in a fully remote, fast-paced environment.

• Experience with specific blockchain protocols or smart contract development.
• Prior experience in the financial services or high-security industry.
