Commercial Counsel, GTM

About the Role

We are seeking a sharp, business-minded Commercial Counsel to join our legal team and support our rapidly growing Enterprise and Public Sector business. You will play a pivotal role in closing high-volume commercial deals while providing practical, risk-aware guidance to our global Go-To-Market teams.

Responsibilities

• Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements with customers, vendors, and partners.
• Support and evolve our contracting approach for government and public sector customers, including navigating complex procurement and regulatory frameworks.
• Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and Product teams to provide actionable legal advice and streamline deal cycles.
• Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and training materials to empower cross-functional stakeholders.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance contracting efficiency and scalability.

Requirements

• Qualified to practice law in the US.
• 5+ years of in-house legal experience at a SaaS or fast-growth technology company.
• Proven expertise in negotiating commercial contracts, including experience with government and public sector transactions.
• Strong ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
• A collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, distributed environment.

Nice-to-Haves

• Familiarity with contracting tools such as Ironclad or DocuSign.
• Experience with public sector cybersecurity frameworks like FedRAMP or NIST.
• Demonstrated interest or experience in leveraging AI tools to optimize legal workflows.
• Experience supporting channel partner and reseller transactions.
