Commercial Counsel - U.S. Operations

About the Role

Join ElevenLabs as our Commercial Counsel for U.S. Operations to drive strategic legal support for our rapidly expanding business initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to shape the legal framework for innovative AI products in a high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a high volume of complex commercial agreements, including sales contracts, vendor agreements, partnership agreements, and service level agreements (SLAs) primarily supporting U.S. operations.
• Provide proactive legal guidance to sales, business development, and product teams on contract terms, risk mitigation, and compliance matters related to technology and data usage.
• Manage and resolve contractual issues, disputes, and escalations efficiently and effectively.
• Develop and maintain standard form agreements, playbooks, and internal processes to streamline commercial transactions and ensure consistency.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing (preferably in a U.S. jurisdiction).
• Minimum of 5+ years of relevant legal experience, with a significant portion focused on drafting and negotiating complex commercial technology transactions.
• Deep understanding of SaaS, licensing models, intellectual property, and data privacy regulations relevant to technology companies.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and communicate complex legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience working in-house for a fast-growing technology company, particularly within the AI or machine learning sector.
• Familiarity with international commercial law principles.
• Experience advising on regulatory compliance specific to emerging technologies.
