Commercial Counsel - UK / Ireland

About the Role

Join ElevenLabs as our dedicated Commercial Counsel for the UK and Ireland, playing a pivotal role in structuring and negotiating complex commercial agreements that drive our European expansion.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including SaaS, licensing, partnership, and vendor contracts, primarily focused on UK/Ireland law and regulatory frameworks.
• Advise internal stakeholders (Sales, Product, Engineering) on legal risks, compliance matters, and contractual obligations related to our AI voice technology.
• Manage and mitigate legal risks associated with data privacy (GDPR, UK GDPR) and intellectual property in commercial dealings.
• Support the continuous improvement of standard contract templates and internal legal processes.

Requirements

• Qualified solicitor or barrister in England & Wales, or qualified solicitor in Ireland (or qualified elsewhere with significant experience practicing UK/Irish commercial law).
• Proven experience (minimum 4+ years) as a Commercial Counsel or in a relevant private practice role, specializing in technology or SaaS agreements.
• Deep working knowledge of UK and EU data protection laws (GDPR).
• Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear business advice.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience advising on AI/ML technology licensing or usage.
• Familiarity with intellectual property litigation or risk management in creative industries.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth technology environment.
