Data Center Engineer

About the Role

Join our growing infrastructure team as a Data Center Engineer, where you will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining the high-performance server and networking systems that power our cutting-edge blockchain technology.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, manage, and configure hardware and networking equipment within our Nashville datacenter.
• Assist in the selection and procurement of IT hardware and software.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software, and networking issues.
• Monitor datacenter infrastructure health, perform preventive maintenance, and contribute to capacity planning.
• Collaborate with the SRE team on technical issues, including debugging non-responsive systems.
• Identify and flag security concerns related to hardware configurations, networking setups, firmware, and physical access controls.
• Provide occasional technical support to employees across all departments and locations.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in a datacenter or similar environment, with proven ability to manage rack-level equipment.
• Strong understanding of server hardware architecture, components, and low-level troubleshooting.
• Solid grasp of networking principles and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewalls.
• Experience debugging issues within virtualization environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented, engineering-first mindset.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues effectively.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with infrastructure as code tools.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging solutions.
• Knowledge of scripting languages for automation.
