About the Role

Lead a team of data scientists to drive growth and innovation within Canva's Video product, shaping the future of video creation for millions of users.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product leadership to define and execute the video product strategy.
• Lead and mentor a team of embedded data scientists focused on video creation, editing, publishing, and discovery.
• Own and analyze key product metrics across the entire video user journey.
• Drive high-quality experimentation, from hypothesis generation to rollout recommendations.
• Identify key growth levers and prioritize initiatives for maximum impact.
• Enhance experimentation standards, metric definitions, and data foundations.
• Communicate complex analysis into clear, actionable insights for decision-making.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading and coaching data scientists in a fast-paced product environment.
• Deep expertise in experimentation, retention, and lifecycle analytics.
• Fluency in SQL and proficiency in Python or R for advanced analysis.
• Experience working with large-scale product datasets, balancing rigor with speed.
• Ability to translate ambiguity into clarity and guide teams toward data-driven decisions.
• Strong skills in developing others and raising the bar for data science craft.
• Experience in dynamic environments with ambitious goals.
