Design Engineer

About the Role

Join ElevenLabs as a Design Engineer to shape the future of voice AI by translating complex technical concepts into intuitive, high-quality product experiences across our engineering and product teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to define, design, and implement user-facing features and internal tools.
• Create detailed design specifications, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for new features and system improvements.
• Ensure design consistency and adherence to established design systems and technical constraints.
• Participate in technical reviews to ensure designs are feasible and align with the overall system architecture.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Design Engineer, Product Designer, or similar role, preferably within a fast-paced technology environment.
• Strong proficiency in modern design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch).
• Excellent understanding of front-end technologies and the ability to communicate effectively with software engineers regarding implementation details.
• A portfolio demonstrating strong visual design skills, user-centered design processes, and problem-solving capabilities.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience designing for complex AI/ML products or developer tools.
• Familiarity with user research methodologies and data-driven design iteration.
• Background in both UX/UI design and basic front-end development principles (HTML/CSS/JavaScript).
