Director, Engineering - Container Platform

About the Role

Lead our innovative engineering team focused on building and scaling our cutting-edge container platform, driving the future of how applications are developed and deployed. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to shape strategic technical direction and empower developers globally.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of engineers responsible for the container platform.
• Define the technical vision and strategy for our container platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
• Oversee the design, development, and operational excellence of core container services and infrastructure.
• Collaborate closely with product management, architecture, and other engineering leaders to align on roadmaps and deliver integrated solutions.
• Drive best practices in software development, operational excellence, and continuous delivery.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or management role.
• Deep expertise and hands-on experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proven track record of building and operating highly scalable, distributed systems on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong understanding of platform engineering principles and infrastructure-as-code.
• Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills, with a passion for mentoring and developing talent.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience contributing to or managing open-source projects related to container orchestration.
• Background in site reliability engineering (SRE) or DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd).
