Director of Engineering, Leverage

About the Role

We are seeking a strategic Director of Engineering to lead our Leverage Engineering Pod, where you will multiply the delivery capacity of our entire Product and Engineering organization. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our development lifecycle, integrate AI-assisted workflows, and manage strategic agency partnerships to accelerate our roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Own the strategy and outcomes for a portfolio spanning shared frameworks, developer tooling, and partner delivery.
• Modernize our Product Development Lifecycle by leading the shift from AI-assisted to agentic development.
• Stand up and manage our Solutions Engineering Squad to accelerate roadmap commitments through vetted agency partners.
• Drive adoption of shared frameworks and services to measurably increase the speed and quality of engineering teams.
• Hire, develop, and retain high-performing engineering managers and senior individual contributors.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience leading engineering organizations as a Director or Senior Engineering Manager, including managing managers.
• Proven track record leading platform, foundations, or developer-productivity teams where internal engineers were your primary customers.
• Experience managing outside partners, including selecting agencies, structuring statements of work, and overseeing quality handoffs.
• Deep proficiency with AI-assisted development tools and a clear vision for the future of agentic software delivery.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present technical investment cases to executive leadership.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience building applications with Ruby on Rails and React.
• Background in standing up professional services or partner delivery functions within a product company.
• Experience treating internal platforms as a product, including managing adoption metrics and deprecation cycles.
• Familiarity with native mobile development for iOS and Android.
