Director of Product Design

About the Role

Lead and inspire our product design team, shaping the user experience of our innovative products and driving our design strategy forward. This remote, full-time role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact across our European operations (UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Portugal).

Responsibilities

• Define and champion the product design vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with overall company goals and product roadmap.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of product designers, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the end-to-end design process, from user research and ideation to prototyping, testing, and final implementation.
• Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, and marketing teams to deliver cohesive, user-centric, and impactful product experiences.
• Establish and maintain design systems, standards, and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across all products and platforms.

Requirements

• Proven experience (8+ years) in product design, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or Director-level role, preferably within a SaaS or technology company.
• A strong portfolio showcasing successful product design leadership, strategic thinking, and impactful user experiences.
• Demonstrated ability to build, mentor, and scale high-performing design teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Expertise in user-centered design methodologies, design thinking, and agile development processes.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and strategies to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience working effectively in a remote-first or distributed team environment across multiple time zones.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience designing for a B2B SaaS product or platform, particularly in the FinTech or developer tools space.
• Familiarity with analytics tools and A/B testing to inform and validate design decisions.
• Understanding of front-end development capabilities and limitations to foster effective collaboration with engineering.
