Director, Product Management - Data Collection, Transformation, and Ingest

About the Role

Lead the strategic vision for the foundational data systems that power Grafana Cloud, enabling millions of users to collect, transform, and ingest telemetry data at massive scale. This role offers the unique opportunity to shape the future of observability in an AI-first world, driving innovation across our telemetry pipelines and database technologies.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the product vision and roadmap for telemetry generation, collection, transformation, and ingestion.
• Lead and mentor a team of product managers to set clear priorities and deliver high-impact solutions.
• Partner with engineering leadership to align technical strategy with business objectives and operational excellence.
• Identify and integrate AI-driven workflows to improve instrumentation, data quality, and cost-efficiency for our customers.
• Engage with technical stakeholders and customers to translate complex observability needs into intuitive product experiences.

Requirements

• Proven experience in product management leadership within the observability, data infrastructure, or cloud platform space.
• Strong understanding of telemetry data, including metrics, logs, traces, and profiling.
• Experience managing and coaching high-performing product teams in a remote or distributed environment.
• Ability to communicate complex technical tradeoffs to both engineering teams and executive leadership.
• Demonstrated success in driving product strategy for large-scale, distributed systems.

Nice-to-Haves

• Familiarity with open-source observability standards like OpenTelemetry.
• Experience working with high-scale time-series databases or distributed data pipelines.
• Background in defining pricing and packaging models for SaaS or cloud-native platforms.
