Lead a team at the forefront of AI innovation, building GitLab's AI catalog to empower users in creating, sharing, and governing AI agents and workflows. Responsibilities

• Guide a distributed team of frontend, backend, and AI engineers in delivering roadmap commitments for the Workflow Catalog.
• Coach and develop engineers, focusing on performance, growth, and retention.
• Collaborate with product and UX to define requirements and deliver impactful AI features.
• Contribute technical judgment to the design of scalable and reliable systems for AI agents.
• Remove blockers, foster clarity, and ensure steady delivery in a dynamic environment.
• Promote a team culture of inclusion, curiosity, and engineering excellence.
• Partner with other AI teams to enable the broader Duo Agent Platform.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing effective engineering teams, including coaching and career development.
• Solid software development background with the ability to engage in technical design and architectural discussions.
• Hands-on familiarity with agentic AI in software development and its impact on the SDLC.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with evolving requirements and continuous delivery.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across distributed teams and stakeholders.
• Commitment to building an inclusive team environment.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with AI product development, observability, or reliability engineering.
• Familiarity with Ruby or TypeScript.
• Adjacent or transferable experience in related fields.
