Engineering Manager, Partner Success & Marketplace

About the Role

Lead a high-performing engineering team focused on empowering partners and creators to thrive on the Webflow platform. This player-coach role offers the exciting opportunity to drive technical strategy, mentor engineers, and make hands-on contributions to expand our Marketplace and leverage AI for customer success and business growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team building and evolving the Webflow Marketplace and core partner experiences.
• Drive technical strategy and roadmap for Marketplace expansion, partner success, and AI integration to solve customer pain points.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners (Product, Design, other engineering teams) to set goals and define engineering strategy.
• Lead by example through hands-on technical involvement, contributing to codebases, leading system design, and partnering with engineers.
• Mentor, coach, and develop engineers through regular feedback and growth conversations.
• Champion engineering excellence, upholding best practices for quality, accessibility, performance, and maintainability.
• Help shape organizational processes and collaborate with other Engineering Managers to improve team support.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience managing an engineering team in a high-growth or fast-paced environment.
• 2+ years of experience as a staff-level engineer and/or player-coach manager, with a track record of shipping high-impact products and leading technical execution.
• Proficiency with modern web technologies including TypeScript, React, Next.js, and Node.js.
• Experience building and scaling cloud-based applications using platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional peers (Product, Design, Marketing) to define business strategy and drive measurable success.
• Demonstrated ability to foster a strong engineering culture focused on craftsmanship, ownership, and continuous learning.
• Experience coaching mid-level engineers to senior roles and enabling senior engineers to scale towards staff-level impact.
• Successful leadership of geographically distributed teams, fostering trust, communication, and accountability across time zones.
• Skill in delivering clear, direct feedback with care, promoting growth while maintaining high standards.
• A focus on solving real partner and customer pain points, driving meaningful outcomes for business and community growth.
• Curiosity and openness to growth, actively building fluency in emerging technologies like AI.
• BS/BA college degree or relevant experience.
