External Contractor - Data Product Manager Mentor

Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical support and guidance to learners via an online community forum.
• Answer complex questions related to course content, facilitating learning when students encounter roadblocks.
• Host one mandatory weekly live virtual session to offer direct, real-time support and community building.
• Effectively redirect learners to appropriate support channels and escalate critical issues to the Mentor Operations team.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of relevant industry experience OR a Master’s degree in a related technical field.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken, for effective communication.
• Demonstrated technical competence across Data Product Management domains, including:
  • Statistical Foundations, Data Wrangling, Visualization & Storytelling, and Product KPIs.
  • Strong understanding of Experiment Design (A/B Testing, Multivariate) and statistical inference.
  • Familiarity with product management frameworks (e.g., RICE), Product Development, and User-Centered Design.
  • Basic proficiency in SQL.
• Must possess a positive character, be trusted by students, and capable of fostering strong group connections.
• Must have the flexibility in their current role to commit to this part-time external contractor engagement.

Nice-to-Haves

• Prior experience teaching technical concepts, public speaking, or organizing technical talks/webinars.
• Graduation from a Udacity Nanodegree Program.
