Field Engineer

About the Role

As a Field Engineer, you will work at the cutting edge of AI coding technology, collaborating with the world's most complex organizations to integrate Sourcegraph into their development workflows. You will serve as a trusted technical advisor, solving advanced challenges and driving product innovation through direct customer engagement.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales and Customer Success teams to lead technical implementations, troubleshoot complex issues, and design custom solutions for Fortune 500 customers.
• Educate and enable technical administrators to successfully configure, maintain, and optimize their environments using best practices.
• Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to translate customer feedback and observations into actionable product improvements.
• Create technical content and documentation to support customer success and share findings across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience as a Software Engineer.
• Proven experience in a technical, customer-facing role with a deep understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and AI coding landscape.
• Strong scripting abilities and experience managing large-scale migrations, code modernizations, or platform upgrades.
• Proficiency with diverse application environments, including both on-premise and cloud-native architectures.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience deploying, managing, or optimizing Large Language Models (LLMs) in production environments.
• Previous experience in Developer Relations (DevRel), Developer Experience (DevEx), or as a Developer Advocate.
