Head of Engineering

About the Role

Join Supabase as our Head of Engineering to lead and align our growing, globally-distributed product engineering teams. You will be instrumental in shaping our technical roadmap, ensuring consistent execution, and fostering a high-performance culture across multiple critical backend services.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor 5+ Postgres-focused engineering teams (e.g., Multigres, OrioleDB, ETL, Storage, Wrappers), currently comprising ~15 engineers and expanding.
• Define and maintain 3-month roadmaps for each team, ensuring strong alignment with overall Product priorities.
• Drive consistent execution by establishing clear milestones, facilitating weekly project updates, and fostering accountability across all teams.
• Scale our engineering organization through active hiring, comprehensive onboarding, and dedicated career development programs.
• Uphold and enhance engineering standards, including project tracking, alerting, on-call rotations, autoscaling, and high availability.
• Cultivate strong collaboration within engineering teams and with Product and other Engineering Managers.
• Provide strategic technical direction while empowering team experts to innovate and lead.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing multiple engineering teams and successfully delivering complex technical projects.
• Demonstrated experience leading and managing remote, globally distributed engineering teams.
• Exceptional organizational and execution skills, with the ability to set clear roadmaps, drive accountability, and ensure delivery in dynamic environments.
