About the Role

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize backend services for the GitLab platform, specifically for self-managed deployments.
• Ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of critical system components.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate new features and improve existing functionalities.
• Participate in code reviews, contribute to architectural discussions, and uphold high engineering standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex backend issues, ensuring smooth operation for our users.

Requirements

• Proven experience in backend development, with strong proficiency in either Ruby or Go.
• Understanding of distributed systems and cloud environments.
• Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex issues.
• Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.
• Ability to work effectively in a fully remote, asynchronous environment.
