About the Role

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust backend services for our AI framework using Python.
• Implement and optimize APIs to facilitate seamless integration of AI models and data processing pipelines.
• Collaborate closely with AI/ML engineers to translate research into production-ready systems.
• Ensure the performance, reliability, and security of backend infrastructure.
• Participate in code reviews, contribute to architectural discussions, and uphold high coding standards.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of professional experience in backend software development.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with modern backend frameworks (e.g., Flask, FastAPI, Django).
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and asynchronous programming.
• Experience with database systems (SQL and/or NoSQL).
• Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Basic understanding of machine learning concepts or a strong desire to learn and apply them in a backend context.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment across different time zones (Canada/Europe).

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and related services.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with MLOps principles and tools.
• Experience with data streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
