Intermediate Fullstack Engineer (Ruby/Vue.js), Growth

About the Role

Join GitLab's Growth team as an Intermediate Fullstack Engineer to enhance the self-serve funnel, transforming user journeys into reliable sources of new paying customers. This role offers a unique opportunity to blend fullstack engineering with product thinking and experimentation, directly impacting customer acquisition and product adoption.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and iterate on A/B tests and experiments to increase first purchases.
• Develop and improve registration, trial, onboarding, and in-product upgrade/purchase experiences.
• Implement backend features and services using Ruby on Rails and frontend experiences with Vue.js.
• Analyze experiment results and product usage data to inform product decisions.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and UX Designers to define hypotheses and success metrics.
• Maintain and enhance the experimentation framework and tooling.
• Work with other Engineering teams to remove purchase barriers.
• Document decisions, review code, and share experiment results asynchronously.

Requirements

• Professional experience developing with Ruby on Rails and modern JavaScript.
• Solid Git, feature development, and deployment workflow knowledge.
• Experience with relational databases and web performance optimization.
• Proven track record of shipping features to production and owning them post-release.
• Ability to leverage product data for decision-making.
• Strong asynchronous communication and collaboration skills.
• Inclusive collaboration with diverse teammates.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with Vue.js, PostgreSQL, A/B testing, or feature flags.
• Familiarity with experimentation frameworks.
• Experience with SaaS sign-up, trial, billing, or checkout flows.
