Junior Data Engineer

About the Role

Join our team as a Junior Data Engineer to support the development, testing, and maintenance of critical data pipelines and automated processes, playing a key role in delivering impactful digital solutions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in building, testing, and maintaining data pipelines and integrations under senior guidance.
• Write and maintain scripts to automate routine data-processing tasks.
• Support the development of reusable data solutions that meet project and customer requirements.
• Monitor assigned workflows and report data-processing or reliability issues.
• Write and run unit tests, integration tests, and data validation checks.
• Investigate data-processing errors and software defects, assisting in their resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or an Associate's degree plus two years of experience.
• 0-2 years of experience in data engineering, software development, database management, or data analytics.
• Foundational knowledge of programming or scripting languages such as Python or SQL.
• Basic understanding of databases, data structures, and data processing concepts.
• Familiarity with data validation, software testing, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to follow technical guidance and collaborate effectively within a team.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience supporting data engineering solutions in a government contracting or healthcare CMS environment.
• Exposure to ETL/ELT processes and data integration techniques.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Exposure to version control tools like Git.
