Learning Experience Designer - STEM Editor

About the Role

We are seeking a creative Learning Experience Designer and STEM Editor to curate and produce high-quality, engaging Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math content for K-12 students and teachers.

Responsibilities

• Curate, edit, and occasionally author student- and teacher-facing STEM content, including articles, assessments, images, and videos from content partners.
• Own content selection and leveling, writing age-appropriate copy (captions, assessment items, articles) with a strong editorial lens for clarity, accuracy, and readability.
• Coordinate freelance writers and editors, providing actionable feedback to maintain quality and consistency.
• Leverage AI tools to streamline ideation, drafting, editing, and quality checks while ensuring content meets standards for engagement, instructional value, accuracy, and accessibility.
• Collaborate closely with learning designers, editors, product managers, and engineers to deliver standards-aligned materials.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in STEM content development for an educational publisher or EdTech company.
• Published writing and editing experience, with a strong preference for prior experience specifically writing or editing STEM content.
• Strong knowledge of science and math curriculum standards and effective STEM instructional best practices.
• Experience designing lessons and assessments for various grade levels (K-8 preferred).
• Proficiency with content authoring tools (e.g., Google Suite, Microsoft Office, digital curriculum platforms).
• Comfort with and enthusiasm for using AI in the content development process.

Nice-to-Haves

• Familiarity with educational publishing standards and instructional technology.
• Experience grounding content choices in current literacy, STEM, assessment, and educational-media research.
