Manager, Engineering - Identity Engineering

About the Role

Lead our high-performing Identity Engineering team to design, build, and scale critical identity and access management systems that form the backbone of our platform.

Responsibilities

• Manage, mentor, and grow a team of talented software engineers focused on identity solutions.
• Drive the technical roadmap and execution for core identity services, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
• Collaborate closely with Product Management, Security, and other engineering teams to define requirements and deliver robust identity features.
• Foster a culture of engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and accountability within the team.
• Oversee the architectural direction for identity components, including authentication, authorization, and user provisioning.

Requirements

• Proven experience (5+ years) in software engineering, with significant time spent in leadership/management roles (2+ years).
• Deep technical understanding of modern identity and access management (IAM) concepts, protocols (e.g., OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML).
• Experience managing complex, distributed, and highly available backend systems.
• Strong skills in technical planning, project execution, and cross-functional communication.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with Camunda Platform or similar workflow/BPM technologies.
• Familiarity with cloud-native architectures (e.g., Kubernetes, microservices).
• Experience managing remote or distributed engineering teams across different time zones.
