Manager, Engineering, Nonlinear Productivity

About the Role

As a Manager for Nonlinear Productivity, you will lead initiatives to break the linear relationship between headcount and engineering output by identifying and eliminating friction in the software development lifecycle. You will work at the intersection of AI-assisted development and platform engineering to prototype, validate, and scale high-leverage technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Survey internal development workflows to identify structural friction and build a data-backed roadmap for technical interventions.
• Evaluate and prototype solutions using emerging agentic and AI-assisted development tooling.
• Manage a high-caliber team or operate as a hands-on working manager to drive validated fixes into internal adoption.
• Partner with product teams to build the business case for productizing successful internal tools for customer use.
• Document learnings and report on impact metrics to ensure continuous improvement across the engineering organization.

Requirements

• Proven track record of identifying and shipping technical fixes for developer productivity, CI/CD, or platform friction.
• Strong technical depth with the ability to evaluate and prototype solutions directly.
• Experience in people management or leading small, high-impact teams.
• Comfort operating in high-ambiguity environments where you define the roadmap rather than executing a pre-existing one.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and modern software engineering practices.
