About the Role

Join Grafana Labs as the founding Manager of our Foundation Observability Architect team, leading the evolution of our practice to meet the unique demands of our scaled customer segment.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, ramp, mentor, and manage the performance of deeply technical Observability Architects from diverse backgrounds.
• Serve as a player/coach, balancing strategic leadership with hands-on support to drive team success.
• Own customer retention and expansion for the Foundation segment.
• Design and implement one-to-many enablement programs and automated workflows to scale customer activation and usage.
• Foster a high-performing environment that brings out the best in your team.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a leadership or management role, specifically building and scaling technical teams.
• Deep technical expertise in observability practices including metrics, logs, and traces, ideally with experience using tools like Grafana, Mimir, Loki, or Tempo.
• Strong customer-facing skills with a background in solution engineering, technical architecture, or customer success.
• Ability to develop and execute programmatic, data-driven strategies to drive customer value at scale.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to partner with sales, product, and engineering teams.

About the Team

The Observability Architect (OA) team is a technically elite group of customer-facing solution experts dedicated to redefining customer solution engineering in the industry. Focusing on Grafana Labs’ Foundation (scaled) customer segment, this team drives activation, consumption, and retention through proactive outreach, one-to-many enablement, and technical guidance. OAs are crucial technical contacts for customers and serve as the voice of our customers to our Product Management and Engineering teams, ensuring rapid and successful application of our technology and enabling Grafana Labs' worldwide growth.
