About the Role

Join our Identity Engineering team to lead the development of critical systems for consumer onboarding, authentication, and verification. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive technical strategy, foster innovation, and enhance customer conversion for a company reinventing credit.

The Identity Engineering team owns the systems responsible for onboarding all consumers and managing their authentication and verification journeys across Affirm’s product surfaces. As a Manager, Software Engineering, you will be instrumental in guiding your team through technical challenges, driving process improvements, and contributing to strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing customer conversion. This leadership position requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills to own and deliver high-availability and low-latency systems on the critical paths for all of our products. This is a remote position based in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Lead a high-performance Identity Engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, empathy, and execution.
• Collaborate closely with peers across the organization on projects that translate opportunities into tangible results.
• Influence technical strategy by working with a broad range of engineering and analytics teams to deliver a long-term technical roadmap that meets stakeholder and growing business needs.
• Maintain a high technical bar, driving the improvement of your team’s quality standards and development processes.
• Actively coach and mentor team members, providing timely feedback and creating an environment where every engineer is empowered to grow in their career.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering.
• 2+ years of engineering leadership experience.
• Prior experience building and delivering high-availability and low-latency systems, especially in critical path services.
