Manager, Software Engineering

About the Role

Join our Repayments International Engineering team, based remotely in Spain, to lead the development of world-class repayment experiences for our global customers. This is an exciting opportunity to build and scale critical systems as we expand Affirm's presence into new international markets.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow an engineering team focused on international repayment processes.
• Guide engineers in improving their designs, code quality, and testing practices.
• Ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of your team’s systems.
• Collaborate with product managers to design and implement best-in-class systems for collections.
• Partner with diverse engineering teams across the entire loan repayment lifecycle at Affirm.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with senior management within the organization.
• Participate in an on-call rotation as required.

Requirements

• Proven experience in leading and managing software engineering teams.
• Strong ability to mentor and develop engineers.
• Demonstrated ownership of system availability, reliability, and performance.
• Experience partnering with product teams to deliver technical solutions.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Passion for creating world-class user experiences and launching products in new regions.

The Repayments Nexus is a Europe-based group that owns the end-to-end consumer repayment experience, from the “Manage” tab in our mobile app to Collections and Recoveries. Our vision is to develop easy, transparent, and flexible repayment experiences that foster customer loyalty and contribute significantly to Affirm's strong unit economics.
