Payroll Expert, France (Mauritius)

About the Role

Join Deel as a Payroll Expert, specializing in French payroll operations managed from Mauritius. This critical role ensures accurate and compliant compensation for our French workforce, contributing to a seamless global employment experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage and process end-to-end payroll for employees in France, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
• Ensure full compliance with French labor laws, social security contributions, and tax regulations.
• Reconcile payroll data, prepare reports, and handle month-end/year-end closing activities related to payroll.
• Act as a subject matter expert for French payroll, providing guidance and support to employees and internal teams.
• Collaborate with HR, finance, and legal teams to streamline payroll processes and resolve discrepancies.

Requirements

• Proven experience (3+ years preferred) in French payroll processing and administration.
• In-depth knowledge of French labor law, social security, and tax regulations.
• Proficiency with payroll software and systems; experience with global payroll platforms is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in French and English, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with payroll operations from a Mauritius base or understanding of Mauritius payroll context.
• Familiarity with Deel or similar global EOR/payroll platforms.
• Experience in a remote or distributed work environment.
