Payroll Expert, Mexico Payroll Operations

About the Role

This role offers a unique opportunity to become a Payroll Expert focusing on Mexico operations, contributing to a rapidly growing global HR and payroll platform that is transforming the future of work. You will ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing for clients, playing a vital part in enabling seamless global employment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate processing and recording of multi-client and multi-state payrolls.
• Prepare and process a variety of journal entries and verify data.
• Process payrolls for stock options, expatriates, and additional incentives like sales commissions and awards.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of Mexican tax regulations (IMSS, ISN, and ISR).
• Lead day-to-day activities as an expert for various clients in the local market.
• Identify and implement process improvements.
• Conduct management reporting and analysis.
• Manage and maintain payroll calendars.
• Participate in special projects as needed.
• Perform administrative duties as required.
• Adhere to the escalation matrix and follow-up procedures.
• Maintain internal reporting requirements, updating and publishing metrics as per schedules and on an ad-hoc basis.
• Represent the company’s best interest at all times.

Requirements

• At least 5-7 years of dedicated payroll experience.
• Hard understanding of Mexico Taxes, end-to-end processes, and calculations.
• Experience managing payroll for over 500+ employees.
• Experience working in global companies.
• Knowledge of annual payroll processes and reports.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with Mexican tax software and authority portals (e.g., SUA, IDSE).
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with mandatory 90% English proficiency for interviews and daily operations.
• Ability to operate in a structured and organized manner.
• Aptitude for analytical thinking in creating solutions.
