Platform Engineer (Remote)

About the Role

Join our team as a Platform Engineer to significantly enhance our developer experience by managing and improving the core infrastructure that powers our innovative solutions. This is an exciting opportunity for a pragmatic senior software engineer with a DevOps mindset to make a substantial impact in a remote-first environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the underlying cloud and cluster technologies that compose our internal platform.
• Manage stateful backend services such as databases and Bitcoin/Lightning Network nodes.
• Utilize, operate, and extend observability tools including logging, monitoring, and tracing.
• Improve the robustness and security of our platform through enhancements like operators and overlay networks.
• Advise and assist development teams with integrations, including Helm charts, cloud resources, and the Kubernetes lifecycle.

Requirements

• Strong foundational knowledge in Linux, networking, security, cloud computing, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Proven experience managing and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters in production environments.
• Expertise in operating and extending observability tools (logging, metrics, tracing).
• Proficiency in a systems programming language such as Go, Python, or Rust.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with advanced cloud technologies like GitOps, DevSecOps, or service mesh.
• Database administration skills, particularly with PostgreSQL and etcd.
• Knowledge of Bitcoin and the Lightning Network.
• Familiarity with contributing to open source projects.
