Principal Data Scientist, Ads

About the Role

As a Principal Data Scientist focusing on Ads, you will drive the strategic application of advanced quantitative methods to optimize Reddit's advertising platform. This pivotal leadership role, available remotely across the United States, involves defining and implementing next-generation data science solutions to enhance the advertiser experience.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the design and long-term evolution of core Ads Data Science solutions and infrastructure.
• Leverage expertise in statistics, econometrics, machine learning, and other quantitative methods to optimize the Ads marketplace.
• Partner closely with Analytics Engineering to continuously uplevel data systems for advanced analysis and modeling at scale.
• Collaborate strategically with Product, Engineering, and Business leaders to establish the long-term vision for measurement, prediction, and optimization.
• Champion scientific rigor, causal inference, and economic modeling as a thought leader.
• Provide deep mentorship to the broader data science team.

Requirements

• Proven expertise in statistics, econometrics, machine learning, and/or other quantitative methods.
• Experience in defining and implementing foundational data science solutions within an advertising or marketplace context.
• Strong strategic partnership and collaboration skills with Product, Engineering, and Business leaders.
• Demonstrated ability to drive scientific rigor, causal inference, and economic modeling.
• Experience in providing mentorship and thought leadership within a data science team.
